Hostname & Test Domain

For all managed servers, in addition to the DNS hostname, a wildcard test domain is also available so that you can test web applications even without your own domain.

Server Hostname

The server’s DNS hostname is generated using the following format: XXXXX.creolineserver.com. The five-character (XXXXX in this case) alphanumeric identifier consists of the unique server ID. The server’s DNS hostname is also resolved via RDNS (Reverse DNS), allowing you to easily run an email server, for example.

Working Domain

The server’s working domain allows you to test web applications even without your own domain. By default, the working domain is provided using the following scheme:

XXXXX.creoline.cloud

Note: Not only does the working domain resolve correctly to the server, but the associated wildcard domain can also be used. ( *.XXXXX.creoline.cloud ).

For example, both app1.XXXXX.creoline.cloud and app2.XXXXX.creoline.cloud can be used simultaneously.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I change the technical hostname XXXXX.creolineserver.com ?

The technical hostname can only be changed if the pre-installation supports the change. For example, the technical hostname can be customized on Plesk-based servers.

Can I customize the subdomain prefix of my working domain?

The subdomain prefix of the working domain cannot be customized and is automatically generated by us. If you want to access your service via a custom DNS name, you’ll need access to a DNS zone. The DNS zone does not necessarily have to be registered with creoline.
