Troubleshooting

An incorrect password was entered when setting up the service or your user does not have the authorization to log in as a service.

Incorrect password

Open the properties of the Windows service set up under "Services":

Navigate to the Login tab and check that the user name and password have been entered correctly.

Save the changes by using the Apply button.

Start the service again.

Missing authorization

In order to use your user account to start a service that you have added with this user, it requires the Log on as service authorization.

To grant this authorization, run gpedit.msc to start the Group Policy Editor.

Navigate to Computer Configuration → Windows Settings → Security Settings → Local Policies → Assign User Permissions to the Log on as a Service policy and add the desired user.

Save the change using the Apply button.

As soon as the Windows user is listed in the list of authorized users or user groups, you can start the service.
