Set up JTL POS server
Foreword
In this article we explain how you can set up JTL-POS for your JTL-Wawi as a Windows service.
Prerequisites
- JTL-Wawi server
Set up JTL POS server
First connect to your JTL-Wawi server via remote desktop.
Then open Explorer and navigate to the following directory:
C:\Program Files (x86)\JTL-Software Then search for the following file:
C:\Program Files (x86)\JTL-Software\JTL-Administrator.exe Run the above-mentioned file as Administrator (right mouse button + Run as administrator) and select the POS server option under Create:
In the following window, enter the access data for the Windows user to be used and specify the other connection information. We recommend that you use an alternative port instead of the standard port 443 (e.g. 8443 or similar). In addition, you must create a certificate via the Create certificate button, which can be used by other applications to establish an HTTPS connection. Then confirm the details using the Save button:
In the next step, start the JTL POS server using the Start button:
Setup in the JTL-Wawi
To connect a cash register to the POS server, for example, you must first change a few settings in JTL-Wawi.
To do this, open JTL-Wawi and log in with your user.
In the top menu bar, select Admin → Global settings and switch to the Transactions tab in the settings window.
The option Display transactions from external POS systems in JTL-Wawi must be activated here.
After saving, open Platforms → Sales Channels in the top menu bar and
Enter the relevant information about the store etc. and use the Connect checkout button to display the required connection information to the checkout:
You can use the displayed connection information to connect your cash register and thus enable data synchronization.
