First steps with JTL-Wawi
Foreword
After the initial order and provision of the JTL Wawi server, you can start setting up JTL Wawi. In this article we describe the first steps for the complete setup of JTL Wawi.
Establish remote desktop connection
Use the connection information from the server's password vault to establish a remote desktop connection to the server.
You will need the following connection information from the password vault:
- IP address
- Remote desktop user
- Password
Please note that you cannot use the Administrator user in the Managed support level.
Initial setup
After you have connected to the server via remote desktop in the first step, you can now start the setup.
To do this, start the JTL-Wawi application. You will find a corresponding shortcut on your user's desktop.
Before you can log in to JTL-Wawi, you must set up the database server in the JTL database administration in the next step.
Set up database server
In order to use JTL-Wawi, it is necessary to create a database.
As there is no profile in the standard system, this must first be created.
To do this, enter the following data in the profile configuration:
- Name:
- Description (optional):
- Server name:
localhost\SQLExpress
(case sensitive !)
Then use the Next button to continue with the login to the database server
Login to the database server
Use the MSSQL access data from the server's password vault to log in to the database server.
Enter these and then use the "Log in" button to establish a connection to the database server with the specified user information.
Create standard database "eazybusiness
In order for JTL-Wawi to function correctly, the database eazybusiness must be created by JTL in this step.
Confirm the process with Ok.
The database is then created with the default parameters. If necessary, you can adjust some settings using the expert mode. Once this has been done, you can create the database by clicking the Next button. As soon as the database including all tables has been created, you can finish the profile and database setup via the Done button and continue with the login to JTL-Wawi.
You can now log in to the JTL Wawi application with the following standard access data:
- Username: admin
- Password: pass
Change password
We recommend changing the password for the standard user directly after the first login and the subsequent setup of your organization in JTL-Wawi, as soon as possible to replace the standard password with your own, secure password.
To do this, open the user administration in the navigation bar in the Admin area under Users / rights settings.
Then select the admin user and use the Edit button to change the user settings etc.
Enter a new password in the right-hand area of the options window and confirm this by entering it again. You can also change other user details in this step if required. Confirm all changes to the user by using the Save button.
If you only want to change the password, you can also do this for the user currently in use via the Start → Change password area in the navigation bar.
Simply enter the old password and then the new one and confirm the change with Change.
You can generate a strong password at any time using our password tool at https://secret.creoline.com and share it in encrypted form with a one-time link if required.
