Storage Performance
When configuring a creoline server, you have the option to add up to 9 additional hard drives. We offer two different storage types for these additional hard drives.
Storage Types
The following storage types are available for our server solutions:
NVMe SSDs
NVMe storage offers very high read and write speeds as well as extremely low access times. It is particularly well-suited for applications with high I/O loads, including databases, web applications, and other performance-critical services.
HDD
HDD storage offers large storage capacities at a lower cost but has significantly lower I/O performance and longer access times. It is particularly suitable for backups, archives, and the long-term storage of data that is rarely accessed.
HDD storage cannot handle a continuously active or intensive I/O load. The operation of databases and other applications with frequent or random read and write accesses is not intended for HDDs and may lead to unexpected performance issues. For I/O-critical applications, use only the NVMe SSD storage type.
I/O Limits

| Random Read | 500,000 IOPS | 1,000,000 IOPS |
| Random Write | 250,000 IOPS | 500,000 IOPS |
HDD
| Action | Limit | Burst |
|---|---|---|
| Sequential Read | 500 MB/s | 500 MB/s |
| Sequential Write | 250 MB/s | 250 MB/s |
| Random Read | 10,000 IOPS | 10,000 IOPS |
| Random Write | 5,000 IOPS | 5,000 IOPS |
Frequently Asked Questions
Can the storage type of an existing hard drive be changed?
It is not possible to change the storage type of an existing hard drive. To change the storage type anyway, you can add an additional hard drive of the desired storage type and copy the existing data to it. The old hard drive can then be removed.
