Adding Redis Instances

Introduction

Redis Insight is a powerful graphical tool for managing, monitoring, and analyzing Redis databases. It allows you to easily view and edit data, execute Redis commands, and analyze performance and memory usage—all directly through a clear and intuitive web interface.

Prerequisites

Configuring a VPC Network

For communication between your Redis instances, the web interface, and the Redis Insight service, we recommend using an isolated VPC network. For instructions on creating and configuring VPC networks, see VPC Networks.

Example:

Server VPC IP Address
Redis Insight 10.20.0.1
Redis A 10.20.0.2
Redis B 10.20.0.3

After successful configuration in the Customer Center, the connection from the Redis Insight server to the Redis instances can be verified, for example, with a PING.

Configuring VPC IP Addresses on Redis Instances

To ensure that the Redis service—which by default allows only local and predefined connections—also listens on the VPC IP address you just configured, this address must be specified in the Redis configuration file redis.conf. For unmanaged servers, you can find instructions at Change Redis Bind Address.

If your Redis instance is a Redis server with the “Managed” support level, configuration must be performed through our support team.

Adding Redis Instances to Redis Insight

After configuring the VPC network, you must add the respective Redis instances to the Redis Insight web interface. You can find the login credentials and the exact URL of the Redis Insight web interface in the password vault of the Redis Insight server.

Enter the VPC IP address of the server you want to add here. The connection URL should look like this:

redis://default@10.20.0.X:6379

If you want to add more than one Redis instance, you can add them one after another in Redis Insight.
