DDoS protection

DDoS attacks are a constant threat. They jeopardize the availability of your infrastructure and can cause serious damage to your company. Their purpose can be blackmail, damage to competitors or even vandalism. Don't become the next victim of a DDoS attack. Let our automated, highly efficient and expertly developed DDoS mitigation services protect you.

Functionality of the DDoS protection

As soon as an IP address has been activated for DDoS protection, the following settings can be made:

Setting Explanation
Sensor Mode Detects and starts DDoS mitigation for data traffic only when a DDoS attack is detected.
Always On The data traffic is continuously filtered for DDoS attacks. This is useful for IPs that are very sensitive to sudden traffic. However, we only recommend this status if it is necessary.
Always Off No detection or filtering enabled

For the first two settings, you have the option of deactivating the filtering of layer 7. The setting is always active by default. Network layers 2, 3, 4 and 7, which are relevant for actual detection, are analyzed in the first two settings.

When using our DDoS protection with layer 7 filtering, the content of your website is cached by the DDoS filter in the event of an attack on web server port 80 (HTTP) and 443 (HTTPS).

Sensor mode

If there is no attack on your IP address, the data traffic is routed directly to your server, as in normal operating mode:

Our DDoS protection has sensors to detect attacks anywhere in the network. If a suspicious pattern is detected, traffic is redirected to a security cloud.

The network sensors immediately detect when an attack occurs and redirect traffic from the affected IP address to the security cloud in seconds:

The redirect stops automatically within minutes after the end of the attack.

Always On Mode

By activating the "Always On" mode, data traffic is permanently redirected to Voxility's security cloud.

Always Off Mode

In "Always Off" mode, no analysis or mitigation of network traffic takes place.
