Installing zstd (Zstandard)

Introduction

If you want to use the zstd PHP extension on your website and/or online store, our installation guide will show you how to install and configure the service on your server.

Prerequisites

  • Plesk Control Panel

Installation

First, log in to the Plesk Control Panel and navigate to the menu item Tools & Settings → General Settings → PHP Settings.

In the overview that appears, select the PHP handler for which you want to install the zstd PHP extension.

The Domains column shows you how many domains use the corresponding PHP handler. If you click on the number, you’ll see a list of your domains that use this handler.

The following view provides an overview of all installed PHP extensions for the corresponding handler, and you can enable or disable them as needed using the respective slider. If you want to add more extensions, click the Manage PECL Packages button.

Enter zstd in the search field on the right to display the corresponding installation package. Then install zstd by selecting the plus sign (+).

Once the installation is complete, the package will appear in the overview of installed PHP extensions for the respective PHP handler and can be used on the server for the selected PHP version from that point on.
