Create backup

First log in to the Customer Center with your access data and call up the Plesk Control Panel of the affected server.

Create backup

Navigate to the desired subscription for which you want to create a manual backup.

Select the Backup and restore button.

Then click on the menu item Create backup.

Select which content you would like to save in this backup. In addition to the subscription configuration, you can select the following options:

  • Email messages (email inboxes)
  • User files (web server files)
  • Databases (MySQL databases)

You then define whether the manual backup is to be created completely or incrementally. If you select "Complete", a new backup is created independently of the existing server backups. If you select "Incremental", only the changes since the last full or incremental backup are backed up.

Then click on the "OK" button to start the backup task.

The Plesk backup task requires CPU resources and free disk space, so the performance of the websites hosted on the server may be degraded during execution. Therefore, before starting the backup task, make sure that the server has sufficient CPU and hard disk resources.

As soon as the backup process has been successfully completed, the backup is available for restoration in the subscription's Backup Manager.
