Verification procedure
Foreword
For system-critical orders, we use a two-stage verification procedure to authorize the execution of the order with an additional verification method. In addition to the classic SMS code, verification via call or two-factor code is also available.
Verification methods
The following verification methods are available:
Method | Description | Price |
---|---|---|
SMS | Sending an SMS code via SMS | free of charge |
Call (mobile) | Transmission of the verification code via call | free of charge |
Call (landline) | Transmission of the verification code by call | free of charge |
two-factor authentication | order confirmation via two-factor code | free of charge |
Please note that one or more verification methods may not be available in your country.
Example order
Additional verification using a verification procedure is required, for example, when restoring server backups or server snapshots.
When executing the restore action, you will be prompted to select one of the available verification methods. Use the desired verification method here and then confirm the order by entering the corresponding verification code.
SMS
To set up a verification code via SMS, log in to the Customer Center and navigate to My account → Mobile phone number → Change. Then confirm the phone number by entering the SMS code sent. "Confirmed" is then displayed next to the mobile phone number.
Call
To set up a verification call via landline or mobile, log in to the Customer Center and navigate to My account → Landline number → Change. Then confirm the phone number by entering the SMS code sent. "Confirmed" will then be displayed next to the mobile phone number.
Two-factor code
To set up verification via two-factor authentication code, activate two-factor authentication in the Customer Center. Navigate to My account → Security → Two-factor authentication and activate the procedure.
More information on activating and deactivating two-factor authentication can be found here.
