Authentication methods

Foreword

For system-critical orders, we use a two-stage verification procedure to authorize the execution of the order with an additional verification method. In addition to the classic SMS code, verification via call or two-factor code is also available.



Authentication methods

The following authentication methods are available:

Method Description Price
SMS Sending an SMS code via SMS free of charge
Call (mobile) Transmission of the verification code via call free of charge
Call (landline) Transmission of the verification code by call free of charge
two-factor authentication order confirmation via two-factor code free of charge


Please note that one or more authentication methods may not be available in your country.



Example order

Additional authentication using an authentication method is required, for example, when restoring server backups or server snapshots.


When executing the restore action, you will be prompted to select one of the available authentication methods. Use the desired authentication method here and then confirm the job by entering the corresponding code.



Add authentication method

Select your name in the top right-hand corner of the screen and navigate to My account → Security → Authentication methods. You can then create a new authentication method using the Add method button.



In the following steps, you can create one of the following authentication methods:

  • SMS
  • Call
  • One-time password (OTP)


You can add up to 6 simultaneous authentication methods in total.


Please note that you can store several one-time passwords as authentication methods so that you can use different one-time passwords for logging into the customer center and releasing orders.
