POP3 / IMAP and SMTP proxy destinations

You can use proxy destinations to connect different target servers via the central creoline mail services. The distribution of POP3, IMAP and SMTP server data can be entered automatically via the autodiscover service or manually via the email client.



Advantages of proxy destinations

  • Central server information for the POP3, IMAP and SMTP services
  • Simple migration between mail servers (proxy destinations)
  • Simple administration via the customer center



Create proxy destination

First log in to creoline Customer Center and select the menu item E-Mail Protection ' Proxy targets.


Use the Add proxy target button to create a new proxy target.



  • Domain

    Enter the domain for which you want to create a proxy destination here

  • POP3 server and port

    Determine which POP3 destination the proxy server pop.creoline.com should communicate with IMAP server and port

    Determine which IMAP destination the proxy server imap.creoline.com should communicate with

  • SMTP server and port
  • Determine with which SMTP destination the proxy server smtp.creoline.com should communicate


Attention: Communication between proxy server and proxy destination must not be encrypted. \n Standard ports: POP3: 110 - IMAP: 143 - SMTP: 25


Define firewall rules at the proxy destination

To allow the proxy server to communicate with the proxy target, corresponding firewall rules must be created for the proxy target.

  • Protocol: TCP
  • Source IP: 5.1.73.105/32
  • Destination port: 110 (default)



  • IMAP
  • Connection type: Incoming
  • Protocol: TCP
  • Source IP: 5.1.73.105/32
  • Destination port: 143 (default)



  • SMTP
  • Connection type: Incoming
  • Protocol: TCP
  • Source IP: 5.1.73.105/32
  • Destination port: 25 (default)



Set up access data in the e-mail client

Once the proxy target has been configured and the corresponding firewall rules have been set up, the new access data can be set up in the e-mail client.



  • Incoming server (POP3)
  • Server: pop.creoline.com
  • Username: Configuration at proxy destination
  • Password: Configuration at proxy destination
  • Port: 995 (SSL/TLS)



  • Incoming server (IMAP)
  • Server: imap.creoline.com
  • Username: Configuration at proxy destination
  • Password: Configuration at proxy destination
  • Port: 993 (SSL/TLS)



  • Outgoing server (SMTP STARTTLS)
  • Server: smtp.creoline.com
  • Username: Configuration at proxy destination
  • Password: Configuration at proxy destination
  • Port: 587 (STARTTLS)



Outgoing server (SMTP SSL)

  • Server: smtp.creoline.com
  • Username: Configuration at proxy destination
  • Password: Configuration at proxy destination
  • Port: 465 (SSL/TLS)
