Set up an e-mail inbox in an e-mail client

Please note that the access data described in this article requires creoline E-Mail Protection. You can find instructions for setting up e-mail protection here.


If you already know how to set up mailboxes in your e-mail client, you will find all the necessary server information summarized in the article IMAP and SMTP server Access data.


Setup in Microsoft Outlook

Start Microsoft Outlook on your computer and navigate to the settings.


You can add a new mailbox using the Add e-mail account button.


In the following window, enter the full e-mail address for which you would like to receive and send e-mails in future.


If you have activated the autodiscover service in E-Mail Protection, you can skip the following step.


Select the supported protocol IMAP from the list if you want to synchronize your emails centrally on the server.


In the next step, enter the access data consisting of user name (full e-mail address) and password.


Use imap.creoline.com as the incoming mail server and smtp.creoline.com as the outgoing mail server. Confirm your entries by clicking the Add account button.


Once the account has been successfully added, you can switch to the Microsoft Outlook inbox using the Done button. Use the Add another account button to create additional e-mail inboxes in Microsoft Outlook.


The newly added mailbox is then displayed in the sidebar in Microsoft Outlook.



Setup in Mozilla Thunderbird

Start Mozilla Thunderbird on your computer and navigate to the menu item Settings → Account settings.


A new email account can be created via Account actions → Add email account.


Enter your full name, e-mail address and the corresponding password in the form and confirm your entries by clicking the Next button.


If you have activated the Autodiscover service in the E-Mail Protection settings, click on Send to automatically retrieve the server information.


If you are not offered the option to automatically retrieve the server information, please use the following access data:


Incoming mail server
server: imap.creoline.com
port: 993
SSL: SSL/TLS


outgoing mail server:
server: smtp.creoline.com
port: 587
SSL: STARTTLS


Then click on Done to complete the setup of the e-mail inbox.


The newly added mailbox will then be displayed in the main Mozilla Thunderbird window.



Setup in Apple Mail

Start Apple Mail on your Mac and navigate to Preferences → Accounts.


You can add a new e-mail account via the + symbol in the bottom left-hand area. Select the Other mail account option here to establish an IMAP or POP3 connection.


Enter your full name, e-mail address and the corresponding password and confirm your entries by clicking the Login button.


Select IMAP or POP as the account type and enter imap.creoline.com as the server for incoming e-mails and smtp.creoline.com as the server for outgoing e-mails. Then confirm your entries by clicking Login.


If you want to synchronize the Apple Notes via this mailbox in addition to your e-mails, you can also activate the Notes in the following window.


After you have successfully set up the e-mail account, the mailbox will be displayed in the left sidebar of Apple Mail.



Setup in Apple iOS

Start the Settings app on your iPhone and navigate to the menu item Mail → Accounts → Add account.



Select the option Other → Add mail account to add the email account as an IMAP or POP3 mailbox.



Then enter your full name, e-mail address and the corresponding password and confirm your entries by clicking the Next button.


You can use the IMAP or POP tabs to set whether you want to configure the mailbox as an IMAP or POP mailbox.


Then fill in the missing server information:


Server for incoming emails
Hostname: imap.creoline.com
Username: Your full e-mail address
Password: your defined password


Server for outgoing e-mails
Hostname: smtp.creoline.com
Username: Your full e-mail address
Password: Your defined password


Then confirm your entries by clicking the Next button.


If you also want to synchronize your Apple Notes via the mailbox in addition to your e-mails, activate the Notes option and confirm the account setup via the Save button.


Your e-mail account has been successfully added and can be used on your iPhone to send and receive e-mails.
