DNS records

To manage the DNS entries of a DNS zone, select the corresponding DNS zone in the zone management. In addition to the standard RR types, we also support Web forwarding.



Changes to the DNS zone can have an unintended effect. If you are not sure whether the change to be made is correct, you should make a backup of the entire DNS zone beforehand.



Create DNS record

To create a new DNS entry, select the Create entry button in the upper area. You can then freely define the RR type, the TTL, the host and the value of the entry.


The following RR types are supported:

A, AAAA, MX, CNAME, TXT, SPF, NS, SRV, ALIAS, RP, SSHFP, NAPTR, CAA, TLSA, SOA



DNS-Eintrag erstellen

To save the new entry, then select Save entry. The changes will then be distributed to all DNS Edge servers in our Anycast network.


Please note that the new DNS entry was not immediately propagated worldwide and it may take several hours until the entry is available worldwide. You can use our DNS lookup tool to check the resolution.



Edit DNS record

To edit an existing DNS entry, select the relevant entry and then click on the pencil icon.


You can edit the values of the entry in the following dialog window.


Then save your changes using the Save changes button.


Please note that the changed DNS entry is not immediately propagated worldwide and it may take several hours before the updated entry is available worldwide. You can use our DNS lookup tool to check the resolution.



Remove DNS entry

To remove an existing DNS entry, select the X symbol next to the desired DNS entry.


Confirm the removal of the entry using the Remove entry button.

Edit SOA entry


To change the SOA record of the DNS zone, select the menu item SettingsEdit SOA record in the upper section of the DNS zone.

How can I check the value of a DNS entry?

You can use our DNS lookup to check all common RR types in real time. Our DNS lookup does not act as a caching server here, but uses the worldwide root name servers internally.
